Hi there, I’m Saira.
I am a UX/UI designer based in NYC. I create thoughtful experiences that are built for everyone to use and enjoy. All in all, I believe that, as a designer, I have a mission to genuinely care for the people I design for and to make a positive impact on their lives. My approach to design is rooted in empathy, creativity, and strategic problem-solving—skills honed through my diverse career journey.
Growing up, whenever someone asked me what my dream was, I would always say, 'I want to be an artist.' I was constantly immersed in creative activities—claying, drawing, painting, designing, crocheting, and daydreaming about what I could create next. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for imagination and craftsmanship, which I now bring into my designs. While in the midst of all that, technology started to become a big part of my life, and my interest in the constantly evolving digital world continued to grow, inspiring me to combine creativity with functionality.
Previously, I worked as a network analyst, where I developed a methodical and analytical mindset. I also create user-generated content and collaborate with brands as a nano-influencer to drive authentic engagement and amplify their presence on social media. These roles have sharpened my skills in digital design, working in fast-paced environments, empathizing with diverse audiences, conducting research, and identifying user needs. They’ve also taught me how to connect with people on an emotional level, a crucial element in UX design.
In UX, I combine my artistic roots and analytical problem-solving to design experiences that are not only functional but also engaging and impactful. My methodology involves user research, empathy-driven ideation, and iterative design to ensure that every solution aligns with both user needs and business goals.
How did I get into UX?
Something that I truly enjoyed through all the different experiences I’ve had is the meaningful relationships I’ve built with the people or brands I’ve worked with. I also realized how much I love being creative and work in a more imaginative field. As a consequence of this realization, I chose to pursue this new path in UX/UI Design, where I could utilize both of my passions in a purposeful way. I want to explore design through emotional, functional, and aesthetic spectrums while delivering measurable impact.
Other things I enjoy …
Through Content Creation, I’ve developed a strong eye for visual storytelling and composition. Capturing product shots and editing them to highlight key features has sharpened my skills in visual hierarchy and branding. This experience mirrors my approach to UX/UI, where I design interfaces that are both visually impactful and user-focused.
Crocheting allows me to embrace patience and iterative problem-solving. From creating intricate patterns to refining designs, I’ve learned the value of attention to detail and testing ideas. This directly translates into my UX/UI process, where I iterate on wireframes and prototypes to craft cohesive, user-centered designs.
My passion for henna art has honed my ability to create intricate, balanced, and aesthetically pleasing designs. The symmetry and detail is a cornerstone of my UX/UI work, where I aim to design interfaces that are both functional and visually harmonious.
Baking combines precision with creativity, requiring careful planning while leaving room for personal flair. It has taught me the importance of following processes and ensuring consistency, skills that I bring to UX/UI design when crafting user flows and maintaining design systems.
